This historic bridge crosses the Spree River joining the Alt-Moabit area near the main railway station on the north bank to Willy-Brandt-Strasse and the Chancellery on the south bank. It is named after Field Marshal Helmuth von Moltke the Elder (1800–1891), chief of staff of the Prussian Army for thirty years. The dome by Sir Norman Foster of the Reichstag can be seen in the distance.
Made of red sandstone, the bridge has three arches across the river. I do not know who and what is represented in the sculpture.
