The coat of arms of IndiaDepicted here are the lions, representing royalty and pride, a wheel beneath the lions from Buddhism, representing Truth and Honesty, with a horse and the bull probably standing for the mental strength of the people of India.See wikipedia for a full explanation.Unfortunately much of this building is hidden from view. The five-story building, on a narrow lot, has a round atrium in the front Teirgartenstrasse facade and unusual fenestration, seen in the side views here. The rough sandstone is from India. There is apparently a courtyard in the rear with a cylinder housing the ambassador's offices. Exterior stairs also lead to a roof garden in the rear. | ||
