garden designed by Gilles Clément
Supported on stilts, the museum is built on five levels, with the main gallery inspired perhaps by Le Corbusier's 1952 Unitë d'Habitation in Marseille. Multi-colored boxes, which seem to be inserted into the facade; inside they provide intimate exhibition spaces.
The exterior of the administration building (the northwest end) is comprised of a vertical carpet of exotic plants. Apparently on some levels, the plants grow inside the building.
