(this vernacular style not typically designed by practicing architects)
1922
Washington Avenue between 10th and 11th
This house in a vernacular style, made of local materials, was typical of south Florida in the early part of the 20th century. Although many vernacular buildings were built of wood, this example is faced with oolitic limestone. Few of these origial modest dwellings still exist. The original arched windows have been replaced with sixteen-pane casement windows.
