Conversion of a large former garage

Sometimes called high tech (note the corrugated metal siding), sometimes Depression Deco, this conversion of a former structure received both praise and mockery. It has (or had) something of the humor of post modern architecture, with huge letters asserting its brand and eggcup finials on the rear facade. But in 1993 the TV-am building was sold to MTV Europe and the large "tvam" letters on the facade were covered with round discs (seen in the left photograph, right side). The large sunrise archway over the entrance into the forecourt alludes to the broadcast times of the programming.
