The Cloister, on the south side of the Cathedral, was begun at the same time as the Cathedral but contains much work from the fifteenth century or later.

The Library

The library contains one of the most complete sets of early printed books in England and three copies of the Magna Carta. The library originally had its origins in the monastic library at Lindisfarne founded by St Aidan in 635 CE.
