| While Gibbs greatest claim to fame is St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, he also designed important works in both Cambridge and Oxford. Here, he has designed orderly bays with a rusticated lowest register; a focus is established in the center section which breaks forward and is capped with a pediment. Beneath the pediment is an open archway framed with a Doric portal; above it is a semicircular window with two stone mullions. | ||
