Pavilion/Kiosk of Trajan (page 4 of 4 pages)

2nd century CE

This beautiful building was important in the ritual ceremonies to the goddess, for the sacred barge with the statue of Isis landed at this site. This unroofed pavilion, also known as Pharaoh's Bed, has 14 columns with bell capitals. Scenes on the screen wall depict Trajan making offerings to Isis.
