Denver Public Library

Classical and modern

The original library in beige limestone has a kind of stately modernism. A two-story rotunda extends on the north elevation. The expansive new addition by Michael Graves is largely attached on the south side and the new entrance is at the east. Although the original building and the large addition by Graves are strikingly different in style, they operate functionally as one building.

Views from the north

The three story entrance porch is visible at the left rear of both the left and center images.
