One United Bank Center (then Norwest Tower) (now Wells Fargo Center)

Johnson/Burgee
1984

This post-modern skyscraper, dubbed by locals the "Cash Register" because of its unique skyline shape, is clad in luxury materials--pink Swedish granite and white marble. The windows on this 52-story tower are framed in white (metal? or marble?). Scholar generally criticize the base of this skyscraper (not pictured here).

The skyscraper in the foreground left is Mile High Center; the one to the right is the Amoco Tower.
