Four Seasons

Marc Chagall
1974

Four thousand square feet of mosaic depicting the four seasons cover this 70 foot long slab--(14 feet high and 10 feet wide).

Fantasy characters float in this spaceless scene--people cavort, dance and play music, fish and birds float among them, and cityscapes (Chicago?) occupy the lower areas.

This public sculpture was renovated in 1994 and rededicated in 1996. It has now been covered with a protective glass canopy.
