An International Style boxThis 35-story skyscraper, built in the late sixties, is typical of its generation. See, for example, other International Style skyscrapers: Mies van der Rohe's Seagram Building in New York City, his One Illinois Center in Chicago, or Skidmore, Owings and Merrill's Richard J. Daley Center in Chicago. Although this dark building has a strong skyline identity (with an almost pop art label at the top), it is dwarfed by a later Skidmore, Owings and Merrill building, Georgia-Pacific Center, at more than 50 stories.
