Waterfront sculpture at La Barceloneta

According to Sidra Stich, this sculpture honors the restaurant owners who had businesses here before the area was gentrified. The uneven stack of rusted cubes suggests both the vibrancy of the past as well as a "derelict collection of discarded objects" (132). When the system is working both interior flashing lights and soft voices enhance the visual experience.
