In the 1920's commercial development of this area of Atlanta (Peachtree Center) began. (See also Pringle and Smith's Regenstein's Department Store.) This building, with simple classical details, relies on the standard tripartite division, originating in the Italian palazzo. The decorative cornice compares with that of its neighbor across the street.
